Google Search Now Capable of Indexing EPUB Files

Google Search has expanded its capabilities to include indexing of Electronic Publication (.epub) files.

This new addition has been incorporated into the list of file types supported by Google’s indexing system, as stated in their help documentation.

Although this update was officially noted in the past 24 hours, it is likely that EPUB files were being supported slightly before the documentation was updated.

“This list includes the most common file types that Google can index.”

Google said in a release that they can now index EPUB files.

I’m interested to know how well they do in normal search results; it’s probably not very high.
